Why I have had a dysfunctional website for years (and what I’m doing about it)

Let me be honest with you — this website has been a mess. There, I said it. For someone who makes a living creating visual content, having a portfolio site that was half-finished, inconsistently updated, and frankly embarrassing was a contradiction I lived with for far too long.

The irony isn’t lost on me. I spend my days obsessing over composition, light, and storytelling through images. Yet the single most important showcase of that work — this website — sat neglected in a digital corner, growing dusty while I kept saying “I’ll fix it next week.”

So what changed? Honestly, a conversation with a client who asked to see my portfolio and I found myself reluctantly sending a link, hoping they wouldn’t look too hard. That was the moment I decided something had to give.

Welcome to the new Abraham Samuel Photography. I hope it’s a truer reflection of the work I love making.
